Operation Palette #11: Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture: World Traveler Palette

First, I want to apologize for my absence.  I have had a lot on my plate lately and haven't had time to post anything.  Second, I grabbed the new ABH palette and created some looks with it!  As of this post it is still available so grab it while you can!  I have had a ton of fun putting these looks together.

Here's the palette for reference:

Happy Fourth of July! + Eye Look

Happy Fourth to all my USA readers!  I created this eye look to celebrate the fourth.  There are very few holidays where I get to use my red eye shadow so I was very excited to use it.

Hope you enjoy!

Here are the products I used but feel free to use whatever is in your stash:

Love is Love!

I know I've been absent from posting, I'm sorry!  I've been very busy!  I thought to make up for it I would create a cute rainbow eyeliner look as a tribute to the recent SCOTUS decision.

Love is love.  Equality is beautiful.

Operation Palette #9: Too Faced Sugar Pop

There's nothing like sugary sweetness in the spring and summer times!  Too Faced condensed the feeling of delicious macarons into a gorgeous palette for the spring/summer 2015 season.  I couldn't help but snap one up when I saw it!  Working with colorful eye shadows is always fun so you ca bet I enjoyed creating these looks for you all!

BareMinerals The Modern Icon Palette Day to Night Looks

I got the Modern Icon 4.0 Ready Palette from BareMinerals a couple months ago when they released it for spring 2015.  I thought I would put together day and night looks for those of you who have this palette!  It's still available as of this post.

You Win Colour Pop, I'm on the Bandwagon!

I remember when Colour Pop's super shock eye shadows first started appearing on my instagram feed, and then twitter, and then all the YouTubers I watched started raving about them.  I would generally ignore it because the last thing I need is another brand or type of product to fall in love with, because once I'm in love with something I enter a Pokemon master mindset and I have the catch em' all, or collect them all in this case.  It's a problem, I know, I'm working on it.

Unfortunately it didn't last.  I caved.

They sent this adorable hand written card, which tells me they care.  I mean seriously, how cute is that?  My only question is where is mount awesome?  Is it close to the Shire?  As long as it's nowhere near Mount Doom in Mordor I'm fine.  Sorry, went off on a nerd tangent.

On to my review!

Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils Review

I was recently gifted my most favorite Vox Box to date.  This Vox Box from Influenster contained the very luxurious Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Volume Effet Faux Cils Volume (a fancy name for a fancy product!).  I was sent this for free to test and since it arrived I have been testing the heck out of it!

As a disclaimer, even though I was sent this for testing purposes, all opinions are my own!

Operation Palette #7: Too Faced Everything Nice

I've been wanting to get to this palette for awhile.  I really love that it has both face and a good selection of eye colors all in one great palette!

This palette isn't available as of the date of this post but hopefully you grabbed one during the holiday season.  If you didn't, all hope is not lost.  I noticed this past holiday they put the previous year's holiday palette on sale so you may be able to snag one around November for a great price!

As always, use the picture of the palette for color reference!

Operation Pallette #6: BareMinerals Ready Convertible Palette

I'm really excited about this post because I'm featuring the brand that got me in to makeup in the first place!  Yup!  You read that title correctly!  BareMinerals!  Round of applause for just being generally awesome.

I loved working with this palette and I REALLY love their ready eyeshadow formula.  I don't think I own a palette I don't like from that line.  They also do amazing loose shadows as well if you happen to be in the market for them.

Anywho, read on for the looks!  As always, refer to the palette picture and caption for reference to the colors.

Top L-R:Chart Topper, Hard to Get, Fantasy, Stiletto, Shiver
Middle L-R: Admire, Elixir
Bottom L-R: Couture, Pizzazz, Bewilder, Connoisseur, Mystify

Valentine's Day 2014 Eye Look

I created a fun eye look for this years Valentine's Day!  I really wanted to go with pinks and purples but at the last minute I threw in some gold...because let's be serious, no one says no to gold on Valentine's Day.

Operation Palette #5: Kat Von D Star Studded Palette pt. 1

This post will be featuring the Kat Von D palette that was released during the 2014 Holiday season.  I'm really excited to work with this palette because I love her makeup and this palette has some really fun colors as well as a good mix of neutral shades for days when I need to tone it down.

Gothica, a color is this palette got a lot of negative reviews.  Unfortunately this shade didn't perform very well but overall I had good results with this palette.

Use the following picture with the names as reference for what colors I used (you may need to blow up the picture):

Back to School Makeup - Making Neutrals Fun For Someone Who Hates Neutrals

Yeah, it's that time of year again.  Back to grad school for me and back to school for a ton of other young whipper snappers.

I love going to class, I really do.  It's normally the only time I get to really experiment with fun makeup...to a certain degree of course.

Unfortunately I'm in an MBA program, and there's not a lot of fun going around and I normally stand out in a classroom because of my bright makeup choices.  It's the first day of classes though, so I don't want my professor's thinking I'm crazy until they get to know me.  Because, you know, I'm that "fun" kind of crazy.

I find that even when I'm using my neutral colors my makeup is still way darker than the other students.  Oh well.

Anyways, now that my complaining about having to tone down my makeup is over, here's what I wore tonight:
